Great success for the first performance of the 2nd China Arts Festival in the EU !

In the evening of the 6th October 2016, the press conference of the 2nd China Arts Festival in the EU, 2nd Chinese Film Festival in Brussels and 1st China-EU Youth Short Film Festival was successfully held in China Cultural Center in Brussels. The ONE® chamber orchestra also gave the first performance of the Festival on that same occasion.

Before the performance, the press conference of the 2nd China Arts Festival in the EU, 2nd Chinese Film Festival in Brussels and 1st China-EU Youth Short Film Festival was held at the China Cultural Center in Brussels, in the presence of foreign and local media representatives and officials. Four speakers took the floor to introduce the China Arts Festival in the EU, and some of its significant upcoming events, including the 2nd Chinese Film Festival and the 1st China-EU Youth Short Film Festival:

  • Zhou Bo, Counsellor of Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the European Union
  • Orsolya Hegedus, Co-President of the Committee of China Arts Festival in the EU, also delivered a greeting speech on behalf of Mr. Ujhelyi, MEP and chairman of the Europe-China One Belt One Road Culture & Tourism Development Committee.
  • Julie Patterson, Co-President of the Committee of China Arts Festival in the EU
  • Xochitl Delattre, Executive Assistant of Orchestre de Picardie and ONE® Project Coordinator Officer

After the press conference, the guests joined a packed room to attend the very first event of the Festival, the music concert by the String Octet of the ONE Project, supported by the Creative Europe Program of the European Commission. The virtuosity of the musicians surely moved the audience, which gave them a standing ovation at the end of their performance!

The second edition of China Arts Festival will be held within the EU’s core cultural and political institutions in Brussels and Strasbourg from October to December 2016. The Festival is hosted jointly by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Europe-China One Belt One Road Culture & Tourism Development Committee, Committee of China Arts Festival in the EU, National Institute of Cultural Development and Association of Hungarian Photographers. It is organized by Atlas International Culture SPRL, China Calligraphers’ Association, China National Academy of Paintings and Beijing World Art Museum.
