The Chinese in their gardens, an art of living and aging differently

The China Cultural Center in Brussels hosted the photo exhibition called “The Chinese in their gardens” from 1 to 9 March. At the opening, many distinguished guests attended the event and were welcomed by the director of the Center, YAN Zhenquan, and the two artists, Michele KOLTZ-CHEDID and Aurelie CHOIRAL. The general public had no choice but to be utterly charmed by the display of these colourful and beautiful photographs.

Following the successful display in Luxembourg (2013) and Brussels (2014), the exhibition “The Chinese in their gardens” was hosted from 1 to 9 March by the China Cultural Center in Brussels. It took place in a friendly and warm atmosphere, much to the delight of visitors.

In the presence of high-level guests, journalists and friends, the vernissage was held on Tuesday March 1st and introduced by Mr XIANG Shihai, Cultural Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Belgium. “The Chinese in their gardens, an art of living and aging differently” was the theme of the photography exhibition. The two artists, Michele KOLTZ-CHEDID and Aurelie CHOIRAL, honoured the opening with their presence and expressed their enthusiasm in doing the project.

This nine-day exhibition attracted many visitors: some came to see either a friend or the artist, others were curious to discover Chinese culture through a series of photographs that captures Chinese people’s activities in the parks of Beijing, capital of China, and Chengdu, giant pandas’ hometown. While walking along the gallery, the general public was pleased to share the artists’ passion and familiarise with a Chinese way of life.
