The exhibition is a token to send New Year wishes to the overseas Chinese in Belgium.

Over the past three years, the overseas Chinese in Belgium have overcome the difficulties brought by the pandemic, uplifted by solidarity and optimism, and demonstrated the spirit of perseverance, mutual support, and courage of the Chinese nation, which has made positive contributions to the promotion of the friendship between China and Belgium.

“Communicating with art makes it easier to communicate with the world.” This exhibition presents a total of 53 paintings by Cao Bei-an and Zhang Wenhai, two outstanding artists, to showcase the results of their dedicated artistic exploration and cross-cultural creation over the past 20 to 30 years. Their works fully convey the “道Dao” of Eastern philosophy, the “意Yi” of Chinese poetry, and the “韵Yun” of artistic rhythm. The two artists combine the western “Light and Shadow” and “New and Exotic” skillfully, reflecting not only the Chinese concept but also the common artistic pursuit in both China and Belgium. Their paintings are part of both the “East” and the “West” but also of the world.

The motherland is always the strong supporting force of all overseas Chinese. May this warmth be passed on to all our compatriots and accompany them in the new year to go forward despite the challenges.
